things that happened today

~ My oldest, Buberkitty, got a job at the local "Mexican" restaurant as a hostess.  I am so very proud of her, but will still never eat a damned bit of food there ever.  You can read my scathing review here.  If you want the best hostess that Oxford has to offer and relatively good margaritas, head on over.  If you want real Mexican food, just come over to my house when her shift is over.

Nonetheless...CONGRATS BABY!

~ Had an interview today for a medical administrative facility.  The interview seemed to be going well...until the man interviewing me asked about the homeschooling that I had on my resume.  Now, I schooled my children for five years, taught the two youngest how to read *myself*, and now have three beautifully social straight A students in public school.  He asked me a few questions and I answered them honestly.  He wrinkled his bald head and said, "Well, that explains why the public school system is so messed up."

Excuse the fuck out of you????

That was the first time I was insulted by an interviewer.

But not the last.

He reiterated time and time again that "You have an associate's degree.  A lot of those interviewing have bachelor's."

And said it again...

...and again...

...and again...

I get it  bald person.  You want a flammable piece of paper with a name on top, not experience.

Good luck with that.

So, needless to say, I more than likely won't get a call back, but I can hold my head high, knowing that I have exactly what they want, even if I don't have a rolled up piece of shit to prove it.

Okay...I'm done :).

Peace, Love and (you are what is wrong with schools today douchebag!) Zombies \IiiI

Wow. What a creep. I would have probably walked out after I spat on his desk. Kudos to you for toughing it out.

The other day, I thought about getting a conventional job. Freelancing pays the bills, but there is rarely any extra to play. Reading this post... seeing what's out there... makes me think that I don't need extra money to play. I will just keep my sanity and my dignity.

Oh, just so you know, the last time I interviewed for a job, the interviewer was suspicious as of why I was looking for a simple technician job when I had two degrees, several certificates, and years of experience. I told him, "Technicians get to spend more time with the corpses. Studying them," I added, seemingly too late. They never called me lol
