if this is beauty, i'll take ugly thank you

It is no secret.  I have struggled with my weight my entire life.  I will always struggle with my weight.  I accept that.  I don't accept, though, the fact that I *do* have to struggle with my weight and self-confidence because of what society has now deemed "beauty".

This morning, that Rimmel London mascara commercial came on.  You know the one: the beautiful horse mouth, gap-toothed, anorexic, has no idea what a brush is model and her fake boobs, fake eyelashes, airbrushed model selling you make-up so you can look like her.

Not this exact pic, but I think this is the chick:

What girl doesn't want to walk around with the durpy durp look on her gappy toothed face?

Then, there are the "Top Models", and their leader, Tyra "You can show a movie on my hypocritical forehead" Banks.  One minute, she is lambasting her uber-gay entourage for saying that a model with a 10 inch waist is what every women should look like, then announces her the winner.

I don't want my daughters' to try and emulate these disgusting, famine-loving females:

I *assume* they are girls.  They look like sticks from a willow tree with no ass, no tits, no hips...androgynous as humanly possible.  Ick.

This young lady is considered a "plus sized model".  She is a size 14.  A 14.  The average size of a women: size 14.

She is gorgeous.  Curvy.  Has hips...has tits...has an ass.  Looks *like a woman*.

This young lady is looked down on for being obese.

This used to be what every woman wanted to look like.  Remember Marilyn Monroe?

One day, this curvy woman became society's idea of  "obese".  One day, the anorexic woman will be considered obese.  Then what?

How thin is perfection?  How perfect is perfect?

I made fun of the model in the first photo.  She probably weighs 80 lbs. and, because of that, the gap in her teeth becomes "sexy". If she was 150 lbs., she would be considered "obese" and the gap in her teeth would become "OMG!  Braces much fatso?"

Fuck you, society, and your "beauty".  Just saying :).

Peace, Love and (I love my big butt you skinny bitches) Zombies \IiiI

I thought the same thing when I saw that Rimmel London commercial. That chick is not attractive at all.
Have you seen the girls they consider plus sized on ANTM? They're a size 6. Um, that's not plus sized. Ugh! I still like to watch though. I like to see the skinny girls fight. I'm convinced that if they were allowed to eat properly, there would be no fights. The girls are just hungry. lol

OMG! Bucktoothed Betty Is fugly as sin!! I'm not sorry if I look humongous to someone who loves the twig off a tree look. I know I need to loose 80 lbs to look like that size 14 woman but it gets harder when you are older. I will eventually get there again. But for now screw it.

I stared at those teeth for a long time. Are they real? I was mesmerized. Seriously, couldn't stop looking.

I'm still trying to explain to my brain that the amazon is a plus size model. Society and fashion: ruthless, weird, and capable of driving people insane.

You totally hit the nail on the head! And I have to laugh about the Tyra Banks comment. We call people with those big 'ol foreheads, FIVEHEADS!
