unscathed

VBS over, and I have come out on the the other side relatively unscathed. A major headache and nightmares, but unscathed lol. The kids did have a lot of fun, and we had a wonderful time spreading the message and love of Jesus Christ, and that is what really matters here.

I would love to say that Don is sitting here with me having coffee or chatting, but sadly, he is at a second funeral this week. The first one was for a friend who's father passed away after a long fight with leukemia, and the second is of another friend who's daughter was tragically killed in an accident. She was only 39 years old. Her car was T-boned while she was turning around in a residential area. Amazingly, her four children, who were sitting in the backseat, walked away without a scratch. It has come to light that, just days before, she had gotten into a conversation with a girlfriend about death and how she wanted her own funeral to be conducted. Music, who to speak, what scripture, all the way down the line. The creepiness meter is off the scale on this one if you ask me. My heart breaks for her family, her children, who are now left to pick up the pieces and move on. She was only two years older than me...

The sky is blue, the air is cooler, and I can feel autumn around the corner. I look at my girls and realize that they are growing up too fast, and that I am getting older at the speed of light. Everyone from my side of the family is long gone. I want to hold on to every single second. To live every single second.

She was only two years older than me...

Be careful. Sometimes when people hold on to every second, they don't relax enough to live their life. Just enjoy each minute for what it is.
