oh boy (with update)

Before school started for the girls, a job opening came in the mail for a position at the elementary school. I sent in my request and never heard another word from them. Then, out of the blue last week, I got a call from HR at the high school, asking me to come for an interview. At the same time that I am excited, I am terrified. Okay, it is only a little noon job, but I haven't interviewed for anything in 18 years. Oy. I know, I need to be myself, which on the outset may sound scary, but I am can be one of the craziest biotches in the world and one of the most professional people you have ever met. Hopefully I can meld the two together to form the perfect monster goddess.

I'll let you know what happens.

Update: I am employed now :). I need to get fingerprinted (which they don't have openings for until next week) and get my paperwork back to the school and voila, momma can start making some money. It is a small noontime position for right now. The woman who interviewed me asked if I would be interested in a full time position and I said ohhhhh yes. We'll see what happens. Coolest thing is that I will still be able to be here for the girls on their comings and goings during the school day. One small leap.....

Congrats, now you'll really get the skinny on public education and its politics! I took the secretary test trying to get in at our district. The test hasn't been updated in over 30 years. I didn't pass...oh, well guess it wasn't the spot for me. She said she'd call and let me know if they offer the test again, honestly if it's the same antiquated test I'll just wait till they make the jump to the 21st century!

Love & Hugs!

congrats! Now you'll really get a load of how public schools operate. I took the secretary test at our distric which hasn't been updated in 30 years. I didn't pass even though I work as a writer/editor! Passed the typing, loved my letter composition but the old school stuff I 'didn't score high enough'. Baah. She said they'd let me know if they offer the test again....aahh, that's great but let me know when yuo make the jump to the 21st century. Yo.
