obamacare-less...i'm just saying

As per all "I'm just saying..." posts, this is my blog, my opinion, my rules. You get cruel, you get gone. With that, let us take on...
Obamacare

I was sitting here at my little ole computer when I heard the news on t.v....the Obamacare bill has passed. My heart sank to the floor. Now, don't get me wrong. Everyone, and I do mean everyone, deserves to get decent health care at a decent price and in a decent time frame. This bill, though, doesn't give any of that as far as I have seen. I'm sure there is a lot I don't know...there is a lot the entire country doesn't know, so I am going to talk about the few things I think I know as of this moment.

One of my friends on Facebook told me that this new Obamacare is showing compassion. My question is...to who? From what I have heard, a law will go into effect in 2014, after I am sure the government figures they have threatened us all into line, that, if you don't buy the insurance they offer, you will be penalized for it. That's right folks. The government will *force* you to buy what *they* have to offer, or else you will be *fined* for it. Wow! Now that, my friends, is the true definition of compassion: forcing your will on others by way of intimidation. Wonder if they will change the entry in Webster's...

The same friend, who is obviously what I term an "Obamite", says that through Obamacare you will be guaranteed access to a doctor and health care. That is absolutely wonderful! One itsy bitsy caveat: you will have to wait 3-6 months before said access will be given. Hope you don't get too sick and need to see a doctor now. Maybe we should all claim ourselves to be dogs and cats. They get quicker and better health care than we do any way lol.

I, at one time, fell for Obama's bullshit. He said all the right things, smiled that big ole toothy grin, stroked all the right buttons. But, when I finally waded to the other side of Bullshit Lake, it started to stink. The lying, the hiding information, that church...good heavens!! I want so much to trust, believe in, and support him, but dammit, I just can't. Yes, folks, I was a Bush supporter, Junior and Senior. I at least will admit that the last two years of Bush Jrs. tenure went askew in a major way, and even *I*, a *Texan*, had to sit back and go, "Damn dude. Shut up!" One has to wonder: will Obamites have the same huevos to sit back and say, "Damn dude. That was fooked up!"

Hey, if, one day, I am proven wrong and he turns out to be the best thing since sliced bread, I will be the first to apologize and eat my words. Until then...I will pray...a lot...

I have heard many pros and cons regarding this. I'm not quite sure what to think personally....but what comes to mind is if I'm going to be taxed to high heavens because I have insurance through my employer ~ which is the state ~ or will my kids (and others) be able to afford what they will be "required" to buy. And if you can't pay that price or the fines...then what, work camps?? I guess those are the million dollar questions on many peoples minds...and of course after wondering how much longer we will have to wait to get an appointment. Currently, my dentist and eye doctor are both booked well into six months in advance.

I am not one to be a huge alarmist or anything, but it does make you wonder how "Big Brother" will make sure the new laws are enforced and what punishments will be doled out.

I think I better get in a for a physical now before it is too late!

Virginia is amoung one of the states filing a lawsuit against the health care reform. The General Assembly in Virginia has already passed a bill that Governor McDonnell plans to sign, designed to prevent Virginians from facing that mandate.
I say thank God for rednecks.

Hey there Diosa!
I love your post and thank you so much for coming by mine today.
That is the reason I did the post today is because I want to know what people really think. I don't know that I trust everything I hear on the news, I want to know what real people think about this and if they are really for it or against it.
Please encourage your followers to come by and participate in the poll, let's all find out if people really want this or not.
take care my new friend,
Julian :)

Hey Julian,

Your poll is a wonderful idea! It is about time us "normal" disbelievers has our say, not just the radicals, if you know what I mean. I will post your link and send some people you way ;).

Glad we met up! Jesse is a great guy!

Hey Mejis baby!

Michigan is doing this same. Funny, the government claims that everyone wants this bill, but over half the states are filing suit *against* it. Makes you wonder, doesn't it?

I am absolutely horrified and heart-sick about this Obama healthcare bill being passed. We had our computer off on Sunday and Monday, but Ian came to me with the news this morning. I am so, so sickened by it all. I do not understand. I don't know one single person who is for this bill. My congressman voted against it, but to no avail. It is frightening. And I can tell you from personal experience that socialized medicine does NOT work, and that people DO die for lack of proper care or timely treatment. As well, the attitude of "it's not my problem" and passing the buck will swell to enormous proportions. That is the way it is here. By law, all the people in healthcare, from the orderlies on up, are not allowed to do this or that, so people are left hanging while they try to figure out who can legally lift an elderly man into an ambulance, or who can legally give medicine, or who can legally refer a patient to a badly needed specialist. It's insane. It's bureaucracy at its absolutely most evil. God help us. And I truly mean that.

It is sooooo nice to know I'm not alone in my thinking...

This is a huge mess... I am so upset that I have no words to express.

Stacey@ we are too! I read the Daily UK, and the horror stories you hear are, well, horrible, when it comes to medical practices there. I am sure that there is good that happens, but it is hard to focus on the one life saved when hundreds of others are lost.

Anon/Mich.g@ isn't is surprising how *not* alone we are in our thinking? The news, media and government would have us think that those of us who oppose this bill are the minority. It is being proven every day that we are the *majority*.
