yippee examen semanal...

For Today... 3 March, 2009
`
Outside my Window... Blue sky, no snow, decieving bright with no warmth
`
I am thinking...about my unbreakable Stephanie getting sick and the new people that are apparently moving in across the street.
`
From the learning rooms... the usual for Si and Nana, a day off for my sicky teen
`
I am thankful for...a daughter with God's heart and ability to share the Good News, beads and dreams
`
From the kitchen... Coffee followed by Slimfast :)
`
I am wearing... Jeans, grey sweatshirt, red gingerbread fuzzy socks, the new rosary necklace I finished (see my other blog for pics :)), hair in ponytail
`
I am reading... Scrapbook mysteries and the Psalms
`
I am hoping...To do some more beadwork, more laundry, and for the sun to not only shine but cast off some warmth as well.
`
I am creating...a solar system with the girls in the hallway for science
`
I am hearing... commercials on TV, a dog barking outside, my stomach growling
`
Around the house...Could use a pick up, heater on, kids dressed
`
One of my favorite things... Naomi's pendants
`
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week... Co-op friday, teaching kids church Wednesday, grocery shopping since we have nothing left in the house.
`
A Picture Thought I Am Sharing With You...Once again, I have a few. This past Sunday was "Teen Sunday", where the teens ran the whole deal Stephanie preached the sermon on Sunday, and she did a wonderful job. I'm sitting there listening to her and thinking, "Wow. She cannot possibly be mine." She is amazing. So many people came up afterwards, complimenting and thanking her for her message, telling me how much she sounds and looks like me and has her daddy's preaching abilities. Here are a few pics from that day...
`
The first picture of Pastor Eriks Mezsets and Stephanie's friend, Riley, getting ready to do announcements...

Don, aka Pastor Don, aka Pastor Biff, aka Pastor Papa Smurf, aka Pastor Daddy lol.

As you see, we are not a suit and tie, dresses and hair buns, organ music kind of church. The music this morning consisted of music by the David Crowder Band, Casting Crowns and Newsboys. We are not your typical church lol.

Stephanie's sermon was on Jesus' baptism by John the Baptist. She was given a scripture and nothing more. Everything she did was her work.

Sorry the pics are fuzzy, but it does give it that ethereal look, doesn't it lol?

Yes, I bragged, a lot. But I am proud of her. I am proud of Sierra and Savannah. I am a proud peacock and I am okay with that. In a world that teaches children that there is no God, to care about only yourself and your own needs, I am blessed to have children who are going against the grain. I have a 13 year old who went and sat down with a 6 year old friend who is sad because his grandmother is dying and cuddled up next to him to make him feel better. I have a 9 year old who shares everything she has and a 7 year old who will defend her friends until the very end. If that is bad, then put me in jail lol.

How cool is that?! I like your type of church. :) My pastor isn't a suit and tie guy, either.

Girlfriend... you have every right to brag on your kids! Actually, I wouldn't call that bragging... it's more like giving credit where credit is due.

Saluting Stephanie for her amazing experience!

It's nice to know there are good girls being raised...in a an age when you just have to wonder!
