a woman's simple daybook

For Today...15 December 2008
`
Outside my Window...most of the snow is gone, but it is very very windy. Supposed to be up to 40 today, giving that "wow, spring must almost be here!" sensation, followed by a look at the weather channel (and date) saying, "Babe, it's only mid-December. You still 3 1/2 months of snow and ice." Today, 40. Tomorrow 20. Think I will do my stocking shopping today instead of waiting.
`
From the learning rooms...Getting some good learnin' time in before we go on break this Friday. Sierra and Savannah both finished their math books, which is cool. I think I will print out a bunch of Christmasy fun stuff for them to do.
`
I am thankful for...A fantastic time at the play last night. My girls were in a play at church called "A Mouse's Tale", teaching the story of the birth of Christ through the eyes of the animals who were there. Stephanie was Grammy Mouse (the narrator of sorts), Sierra was Young Grammy Mouse (lots and lots of lines...I was SOOOO proud of her!), and Savannah was an angel...a beautiful angel I must say :). My friend, Sarah (the director) and I, worked with the kids since October and it turned out awesome. Today, Christmas. Tomorrow, Easter lol.
`
From the kitchen...Silence.
`
I am wearing...Pink plaid pj pants, michigan t-shirt, gingerbread man socks, hair in clip. I am considering getting dressed when I am done here...maybe.
`
I am reading...Nuffin. Finished my Hamish Macbeth which was, of course, wonderful.
`
I am hoping...I have no real hope for anything right now. Sorry. One of those days.
`
I am creating...a finished afghan and a beaded purse
`
I am hearing...the sound of the wind through the trees.
`
Around the house...it's still quiet. Sierra and Savannah, although they had a great time at church, came home not feeling well at all. We will take the day in stride.
`
One of my favorite things...Carmex
`
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week...School, going to see "Mamma Mia" at my friend Marla's house, church, more present wrapping.
`
Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you...
This is Penelope Pitstop. I always loved her. She was cute, funny, squeaky, had a great southern accent and was always saved at the last moment from doom. "Help! Help!" was her favorite thing to say. Now I say it. Help. Help. I hated it as a child when people would call me Penelope, now I wish that was my name. My name is sooooo boring. Penny. Penny Ann. Yawn. Now Penelope Antoinette, that is a fun name.

Guess I should get the kids now.

I heard you all have a couple of days of melting before the next storm. :) Enjoy it while you can.

I LOVED Penelope Pitstop! She had the coolest car. Didn't she have some evil guy that was always after her but she always outsmarted him? Sorta like a feminine Roadrunner with Wile E. Coyote.

I haven't seen Mamma Mia but I hear it's fabulous - Enjoy!
